Board of Benefits Services

The RCA's Board of Benefits Services (also known as BOBS) is an agency of the General Synod that manages and administers the retirement and the assistance programs, and also ensures the availability of appropriate life insurance benefits, long-term disability benefits, and any other programs or services related to the financial and physical wellbeing of eligible ordained ministers and their dependents, and of other employees of agencies, assemblies, and institutions of the Reformed Church in America.

Insurance Information

Beginning January 1, 2014, the newly formed Reformed Benefits Association (the RCA's insurance partnership with the Christian Reformed Church in North America) provides group medical insurance and other insurance products for RCA ministers and lay staff. Visit the RBA website for more information about insurance.

Despite the fact that BOBS no longer offers group medical insurance, it continues to stipulate minimum standards for medical insurance coverage for ordained ministers (RCA Required Insurance, 2017).

The Covenant of Care

The theological paper "Covenant of Grace/Covenant of Care" provides a biblical foundation for the work of the Board of Benefits Services.
